  • Medical Control

The injured employee may select a medical provider from a provider listing when subject to a
Risk Management Program, unless they have opted out prior to an injury. A change of provider
must be requested by contacting the Workers' Compensation Board. The employee may select
his/her own pharmacy or select a pharmacy from the Express Scripts pharmacy network.
Emergency medical treatment shall be secured at the nearest location

  • Billing

Medical providers should bill WSI for all medical treatment related to the claim. If WSI has made
payment for the services, the medical provider can not legally bill you for any difference between
the fee schedule amount and the amount they billed. If you receive a medical bill make sure the
medical provider has the claim number and knows the bills should be submitted to WSI. If you
are uncertain whether WSI will cover some medical bills you can contact our Customer Service
Department at 701-328-3800 or 800-777-5033.
